First rocky planet found outside solar system

(CNN) -- Scientists have discovered the first confirmed Earthlike planet outside our solar system, they announced Wednesday.

Story Headlines:

  • The planet, known as CoRoT-7b, was detected early last year

  • It took months to determine that it had a composition roughly similar to Earth's

  • The planet is about five times more massive than Earth

  • Astronomer: It is so close to the star it orbits that it may "look like Dante's Inferno"

SO.......COULD WE LIVE ON THIS THINGY?

Don't think so...scientists think it's over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and minus -328 degrees Fahrenheit at night.

You would have to have quite the air conditioning/heater available to live there.

THAT IS REALLY FUNNY. CAN WE BUY ONE OF THOSE ULTIMATE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATER THINGS? I WOULDN'T LIKE TO WALK OUTSIDE AND FREEZE. OR COMPLETLY MELT TO DEATH EITHER. HAHA!:)
