First rocky planet found outside solar system

(CNN) -- Scientists have discovered the first confirmed Earthlike planet outside our solar system, they announced Wednesday.

Story Headlines:

  • The planet, known as CoRoT-7b, was detected early last year

  • It took months to determine that it had a composition roughly similar to Earth's

  • The planet is about five times more massive than Earth

  • Astronomer: It is so close to the star it orbits that it may "look like Dante's Inferno"

  2. Don't think so...scientists think it's over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and minus -328 degrees Fahrenheit at night.

    You would have to have quite the air conditioning/heater available to live there.

  4. THAT IS REALLY FUNNY. CAN WE BUY ONE OF THOSE ULTIMATE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATER THINGS? I WOULDN'T LIKE TO WALK OUTSIDE AND FREEZE. OR COMPLETLY MELT TO DEATH EITHER. HAHA!:)
